“I love Loudstakk MIDI. Ron D has a way of capturing the essence of Metal grooves - that elusive Metal feel and groove that just can't be replicated by hand programming MIDI.

Loudstakk helps keep me inspired and creative and focused on the song itself.”

Karl Sanders (Nile)

"Loudstakk MIDI Grooves are great for inspiration and for jump starting ideas. The thing I find them most useful for though, is breaking out of old patterns by testing all kinds of different beats and rhythms against the same idea to find near infinite potential in every riff"

Ghul (Mayhem)

"Loudstakk MIDI Grooves provide the right amount of dynamics to make them sound more natural. Most other packs I've tried leave very small amount of dynamics.
While on the road - I like to load these MIDI Grooves into my session knowing they will satisfy my taste when composing"

Vanik (ex-Midnight)

“I purchased my first Loudstakk MIDI Groove pack and immediately spent the next couple of days almost effortlessly writing nearly 30 minutes worth of music. Integrating perfectly with my drum libraries of choice, it feels like writing with a real drummer… I guess because the grooves are all played by a real drummer!

Highly recommended for my fellow songwriters, Loudstakk products are inspiring!”

Jack Kosto (Seven Spires)

"Loudstakk MIDI Grooves are an essential part of my songwriting process.
Just drag and drop into your favorite DAW or standalone player, and you’re off to the races.

Real, modern drum sounds with that classic, old-school feel at your fingertips."

Kelly McLauchlin (Pessimist)

REAL GROOVES BY REAL DRUMMERS

NO PROGRAMMING, WRITE MUSIC

"Loudstakk MIDI Grooves have been an essential part in my recent songwriting and pre-production for Fury of Five.

Although being the drummer, sometimes I don’t have time to set up all my recording gear to track a 45 second drum loop for a guitar riff and Loudstakk has been crucial in delivering the right kinds of drum parts for Fury’s riffs."

Mike Pollaro (Fury of Five)

"Loudstakk MIDI Grooves are a great tool. Been using them for 6 months or so – And these have become my go-to for getting natural sounding grooves and beats for capturing ideas and writing music. Great dynamics and just has the right overall feel. Would recommend these to anyone who writes music in Metal/Rock/Punk."

Gamle Erik (Carpathian Forest)

"Loudstakk is something I can't live without once I think about writing songs or even be on with some riff ideas. It just optimizes my work flow in a way that it's even funnier/faster and more practical to give birth to new killer tunes!"

Guilherme Miranda (DIETH)

"Loudstakk offers a countless amount of top notch quality drum MIDI grooves that do assist me a lot when creating new compositions. Literally they inspire me to write more and more.
Loudstakk is highly recommended for songwriters!"

Jan Mojdis (Alien Orchestra)

“Truly inspiring drumbeats.
I actually started a new band as soon as I tried them out in my DAW”

Mika Lagren (Nekrodawn)

What is your approach to Punk drumming?

"Ska Punk is a balancing act between rhythm, restraint, and riot. My approach starts with the understanding that the drums don’t always need to lead—they need to lift. You’re there to glue together the groove of Ska with the aggression of Punk, and the wrong move in either direction can throw the whole thing off.

In the verses or upstroke-heavy sections, I focus on keeping it light and bouncy, usually riding the Hi-Hats or Rim Clicks with enough space for the Guitar stabs and Horn lines to breathe. The Kick patterns stay tight and deliberate—just enough movement to push the tempo forward without stepping on the Skank rhythm. It’s about syncing with the Offbeat without oversaturating it.

Then when the song flips into Punk mode—fast Choruses, Gang Vocals, or Breakdowns—that’s when the Snare opens up and the fills get messier. But even then, I keep the transitions tight. Ska Punk doesn’t work if it feels like two genres stapled together—it has to flow, and that’s the Drummer’s job. So I approach every section with intent: keep the bounce, drive the energy, and make sure the whole thing feels like one big sweaty Dance Circle waiting to happen."

Which drummers inspired you?

"Adrian Young from No Doubt has always stood out to me for his ability to combine energy with style in a way that never sacrifices the groove. His playing is explosive and dynamic, yet always tightly in service of the song. In a genre that walks the line between Ska, Punk, and Pop, Adrian knows exactly when to hold back and when to go wild. That sense of balance and flair—playing with character without overcomplicating the rhythm—had a huge influence on how I approach feel and movement behind the kit.

Dave Mello’s drumming in Operation Ivy hit me differently. His playing feels raw, immediate, and completely human. There’s this barely-contained chaos in the way he drives each song—it’s not about perfection, it’s about impact. His parts had this “record-it-now-or-it’s-gone” energy, and that looseness gave the band its edge. That approach taught me that feel always trumps precision when it comes to Punk-rooted music. It doesn’t have to be clean—it just has to move.

Erik “Smelly” Sandin from NOFX showed me what discipline looks like at high speed. His drumming is fast and intricate, but always tight and full of groove. What I admire most is how effortlessly he switches between Punk aggression and Ska bounce without ever losing momentum. There’s a lot of subtlety in his playing if you dig into it—ghost notes, little syncopations, kick placement that keeps things dancing even at breakneck tempos. His control in chaos has definitely shaped how I approach more complex sections without losing feel."

How did the idea for a MIDI Groove pack come around?

"The idea for the Ska Punk MIDI Pack came from realizing how underserved the genre was when it comes to songwriting tools. There’s plenty of MIDI out there for Metal, Hardcore, even Pop Punk—but almost nothing that captures that tight, bouncy, two-tone energy that defines Ska Punk. And if you’ve ever tried to program Skank beats manually, you know it’s a fine line between “upbeat and fun” and “robotic and lifeless.”

I wanted something that could move the way this genre moves—grooves that bounce, turn on a dime, and give space for the guitar upstrokes, walking basslines, and horn sections to breathe. It had to be tight but human, with fills that feel like they belong in a sweaty club show, not a MIDI grid. Whether it’s the clean hi-hat work in the verses or explosive, punk-driven choruses, I wanted to build grooves that support both sides of Ska Punk without overcomplicating it.

So I got behind the kit and started playing what I’d want to write over—beats that were as fun to jam with as they were practical to arrange around. The result is a pack that helps you write riffs, test ideas, or just vibe out—without spending 45 minutes trying to make a hi-hat feel like it has soul. Just drag it in, loop it, and let the offbeat take over."

Who should use MIDI Groove packs?

"I think MIDI Groove Packs are for anyone who wants to stay in the creative flow without getting dragged into the slow, clinical process of programming drums from scratch. Whether you're writing riffs, demoing songs, or jamming after work, sometimes the last thing you want to do is fight with a MIDI grid just to get the feel right. You want something that moves like a drummer would—and that's what these packs are for.

They're especially useful for solo artists and one-person projects. If you're doing everything yourself, you don’t always have time—or patience—to map out a believable groove from zero. These packs give you drag-and-drop drum tracks that actually feel like they belong in your song. And if you want to tweak them, great. If not, they already do the job.

Even for pros, it's about momentum.
These aren’t meant to be final mix drums—they're tools to capture the idea before it disappears. The groove should help drive your song forward, not slow you down. If you can lay down your guitars while the energy’s still fresh, that’s when the magic happens. That’s what Groove Packs are built to protect."
